How did the reality changed since 1930s, but we continue thinking as if we are in 1930...

This is about the point of adulthood where beautiful explanations lose their weight and choices as well as their consequences move to the forefront. And THOSE become your life you have to deal with. I see more and more clearly how easily the mind can construct an intricate machinery of justification, especially in the places where changing the form of life feels frightening. But reality does not read our concepts... it reads the geometry of our actions... I want to speak about maturity, self-honesty, and the simple formula that cannot be bypassed: every choice, over time, becomes visible in the facts of our lives.

There is a moment that cannot be faked. It cannot be performed, learned, or simulated with the right words or beautiful posts. This moment happens inside the nervous system. It happens quietly, without announcement, without dramatic endings... 

There are shadows we recognize right away. And there are others we live inside for years, believing they are simply who we are...

We, women know how to suffer beautifully. We know how to turn pain into virtue, waiting into moral superiority, endurance into a spiritual path. We convince ourselves that patience is maturity, that waiting is wisdom, that silence is depth, that not moving is consciousness.
