Sunny Shores

The Eau Claire Chain of Lakes offers a rare balance of wild nature and curated leisure. This is a place for people who want both: movement and stillness, nature and comfort, solitude and connection. You don’t come here to fill your time. You come here to feel it differently.

Around these eleven lakes, you can explore miles of scenic bike and hiking trails, including the renowned CAMBA Trails. In winter, the region transforms again through the iconic American Birkebeiner ski trails, drawing people who love movement through silence, snow, and forest.

Fishing

Fishing

The lakes are exceptionally clear and known for both recreation and fishing. They support a good population of game fish, including Muskellunge, Northern Pike, Walleye, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, along with Crappies, Bluegills, Sunfish, and Perch. Nearby rivers and streams also offer good trout fishing. Whether you fish from a boat, a dock, or simply watch the water at sunrise, the experience is less about urgency and more about presence.

Kayaking & Lake Exploration

The Eau Claire Chain of Lakes is made for slow exploration by water. Paddle through quiet bays, discover hidden shorelines, watch loons glide across the lake, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm that only kayaking can offer. Whether you're heading out at sunrise or drifting across calm evening waters, it's one of the most memorable ways to experience Sunny Shores.
